Menzies Civil Australia has been developed off the basis of experience in all different sectors; Civil, Roads and Infrastructure. The Menzies Civil Australia management team was build around each member applying their expertise to generate a structure that covers all bases, thus opening opportunities to all available projects across Australia.

DRAINAGE UPGRADE

LESMURDIE

Jul - Aug 2018

Project Duration: 6 weeks

The Booligal Street Drainage upgrade for the shire of Kalamunda involved the upgrade of existing shire system and existing stormwater pits. This included;

  • The installation of 450mm and 600mm black max stormwater pipe.

  • Excavation of new stormwater line entirely in rock.

  • Stormwater management during live cut in to stormwater pits

  • Traffic management, road restoration and confined excavation around residents and power authority assets.

  • Stakeholder Management and restoration of public open space following excavation.

Hardstand Construction

Project Duration: 4 weeks

Project Overview

Bulk Earthworks;

  • Utilisation of Scrapers and Dozers to bulk out 6,000 cubic

  • Meters of fill from across a 30,000m2 construction pad

  • Proof rolling and compaction using twin rollers and water cart to consolidate placed fill from previous stage of Works

  • Balance construction site ready for importation of subbase

  • Import, place and compact 9,000 tonnes of limestone over 30,000m2 at 150mm thick

  • Final trim using GPS grader to within 10mm for concrete Hardstand

  • Dewatering of moisture layer trapped in previous stage of Sand fill

  • Management of latent ground conditions for delivery of Hardstand ready for concrete prior to programmed dates

  • Management of 3,000 tonnes of limestone delivery per day over a three day period

COntaminated soil removal

WOODMAN’S POINT

Jul 2018

Project Duration: 2 weeks

Project Overview:

  • Carry out testing of water corporation waste, “Slude Anlaysis”                                          

  • Utilised specialised team to re classify the sludge to the benefit of the client

  • Prepare haul road for load out of contaminated spoil

  • Bulk excavation and controlled removal of contaminated spoil via semi-trucks to designated location.

  • Management of quality and safety on a Water Corporation site

  • Tidy up area on completion

RESTORATION

SHENTON PARK

Jan - Apr 2018

 

Menzies delivered the full civil restoration works and quality assurance for the main Water Corporation pumping station in Perth. The first stage of this restoration project involved the backfill of a sewer main, before Menzies Civil could commence road restoration works. This included the installation of footpaths, kerbs and asphalt and the overlay of existing carparks. As well as the installation of limestone retaining walls and stormwater drainage.

Menzies Civil achieved the full contract with a large increase in scope, within the timeframe allowed by RCR and Water Corporation. A challenging project to manage while working in close proximity to the new pump station and exclusion zones. Menzies was successful in overcoming the close working environment amongst all the other sub-contractors on site, to aid in the delivery of a first class pumping station.

ProjecT QUANITIES:

  • 3,000m2 of asphalt roadways

  • Cart and disposal of 600m3 of C&D waste

WINDFARM

BADGINgARRA

Oct 2017 - Oct 2018

Project duration: 12 Months

Project Overview:

  • Complete construction of haul roads, material importation, excavation of detailed footings and construction of crane pads

  • Operation of Dump Trucks, Excavators and Graders to assist in the delivery of the new Badgingarra Windfarm from start through to finish

  • Drive in, Drive out away work with full workforce living away from home

  • Management of project and employees working from a distance and staying away from home for long periods of time


CONTAMINATED SOIL REMOVAL

PINJARRA

May 2018

Project duration: 2 Weeks

Project Overview

  • Carry out testing of water corporation waste, “Slude Anlaysis”

  •  Contained contaminated spoil within the designated bund for full

  • duration of project

  • Prepare haul road for load out of contaminated spoil

  •  Bulk excavation and controlled removal of contaminated spoil

  • Via semi-trucks to designated location.

  •  Management of quality and safety on a Water Corporation site.

  •  Tidy up area on completion

CIVIL WORKS

KFC, BYFORD

Oct - Nov 2017

Project Duration: 8 weeks

Project Overview

Forward earthworks;

  • Cut to fill and import, place and compact of fill sand for site

  • Establishment and the enablement of all trades

Civil Works;

  • Installation of new drainage system

  • Establishment, compaction and testing of building pad ready for

  • Prelay of following services

  • Remediation to existing retaining wall and construction of parts of

  • new retaining wall

  • Import, place, compact and trim of subbase and basecourse for

  • car park pavement works.

  • Completion of full car park and footpath works around the new

  • KFC, including; Asphalt, Kerbs, Concrete Footpaths, line marking

  • Removal and installation of new crossovers into the site from

  • existing, live roads.

Specialised Works;

  • Management of confined site and working amongst a number

  • of trades within close proximity

  • Preparation and installation of traffic management plan for works

  • Involved with live roads

 

ProjecT QUANITIES:

  • Final trim of 600m2 of building pads

  • Construct 1,500m2 of car park and footpaths

  • Installation of two new crossovers

  • Installation of full new drainage system for KFC

SUBDIVISION

Morrison RD - 7 lots

Works began early with this client providing savings in the preliminary phase raising changes to design that could be made to benefit our client from a practical construction point of view. Over $300,000 worth of savings were executed before the construction drawings were released.

This project involved an extensive storm water network including the installation of 27 stormtech cells, fuel tank installation for Puma Energy and the preparation and pour of 2 black oxide concrete drive through, for Fast Food outlets. Extremely satisfied client who is currently looking to open 2 months ahead of program.


REDEVELOPMENT

KOSTERA OVAL

Works including the removal of 20,000m3 of existing unsuitable material and the import of 25,000m3 of sand and lawn sand for oval filling and over 1.5km of subsoil drainage.  

Dylan, (Director & Project Manager of Menzies Civil Australia) built an excellent rapport with local stakeholders, taking it upon himself to ensure no complaints were not seen to and to ensure on completion of the project that all those involved, including local residents were happy from start to finish. Dylan managed this project of all the above quantities and every subcontractor involved, ensuring that standards did not drop when the work was not his own, these same standards and more are upheld with Menzies Civil Australia.


SUBDIVISION

Queensway Rd - 60 lots

Works involved bulk earthworks, installation of underground services including sewer, drainage, water, electrical, gas and communications.  Supply and installation of retaining walls, construction of roads and footpaths and final lot trimming.  As well as interface with local residents, local school next to site and connection to current road.   

Dylan, (Director & Project Manager of Menzies Civil) completed Queensway Road from beginning to end, securing and managing sub contractors, ensuring sub contracted work was completed to a standard that exceeded the clients’ expectations. Dylan has built an on going relationship with this client and has since been offered further work as a result of the service and quality provided with this previous project.
